2005 Ford Mustang GT as she was at start of March 2010

Mods: 20” deep-dish ‘Bullitt’ wheels bespoke machined and custom powder coated in Ford Black. Toyos. Carbon Kevlar / Carbon Ceramic pads. Surrey Mustang spec 20% uprated and 1.5” lowered springs. Air Raid cold air kit. Matt Black wrap with Gloss black viper stripes. Steeda swirl plate (woohoo!). Beesting Arial. Godfather Air Horn. 1,000 Watt Shaker system.

She may not have been the quickest car there but PC and Brian set the 11th and 12th fastest start times measured over 0-64ft, its just a shame the other 2.4 miles were not quite as quick.

Steve McQueen’s quote from Le Mans summed up the day: ‘Racing is life, everything else, before and after, is just waiting around ‘ – brilliant!

A mixed day of fortunes for Marcus and his amazingly quick new toy. Straight out the box in practice he set a flying lap of 93 secs, seriously fast. Sadly on his first timed run the drive chain snapped to end his day in disappointment sitting on the start/finish line. We all felt for him. The good news is we know when he returns next year he will be on for a top ten finish, if not top five, IF he has the ‘balls’ to leave everything on the track.

The boys managed to get their cars into the supercar car park, though as you can see they were properly trumped by an Enzo (a hyper car)! Even Stuart got his spanking brand new BMW 135i Coupe in after asking the marshall nicely and pointing out he was a first timer.

Fresh in from the workshop is a shot of SPR with her roundels and rear wheel arch spats (not the best pic in the world but you get the idea).

The seats and harnesses are in, plus fire extinguisher, plus we have our timing strut. Here are a few more spy shots, but she is looking like a proper little racer now.

Here are a few shots of SPR all finished. Typical it rains on the day she leaves Back On Track (where she has been prepared) on her cut race slicks for her first journey!

Brian said today; ‘This is me having my mid-life crises, and you know what its bloody marvelous!’

Footage from my first laps of Goodwood in the newly track-prepared SPR.  The brakes and the tyres have been sorted – the car now goes around corners and stops when you press the pedal in the middle!
